My grandfather Andrew Clarence Jones Sr. received a check from somewhere until he died in 1964. Social security doesn’t show a social security number on the records. there was a welfare system in place that was funded by the state and partly by federal government. I have all census info on my grandparents from 1900 to 1930. I know they lived in Simsboro and Ruston Louisiana from early 1940 until death in 1964. If they received a Old Age Assistance check there has to be an application somewhere that may provide info as to my great grand parents idenitiy. All family records were destroyed in 1980′s. For some unknown reason none of my uncle’s and aunt’s would discuss family history. By finding Great Grandfathers name it could open up tons of info.
Andrew Clarence Jones Sr, wife Levie Buchanan Jones born in Alabama in 1862-70, in 1910 they were in Ovett, MS, 1920 Simsboro,La and 1930 Manghum, LA. Children, Howard Butler, Sadie, Dolphus, Andrew Clarence Jr., Butler , Dollie and Elsie.

So back a bit … when he died in 1964, there was not a death certificate? Section of his parents may be empty if the children / informant did not know, should know that there is always an exact date of birth, and probably occur. Presumably, his funeral was marked by a funeral home, which may still have records processed. When he was born before 1880, it should be possible to find in the account, even though he had married in 1900. Unfortunately, the census was lost in 1890, but 1900 was also the birthplace of his parents, even if it is not the Namen.Von your contribution to this day, I guess you do not receive the death certificate itself the same. We all try to keep costs low, and the use of the files replacement if we can, but it may not be possible for you. The date is crucial to help children of his Bedeutung.Namen not much .. If you could know no siblings, which would open Dinge.Ich also ask (again) re social security. I used the SS Totenkopf-index, and has not been able to find it .. But it is not unusual, especially if you have a different name (maybe AC) was used at the time of death. I am skeptical that he has no social security number in 1964. It would not surprise me to say about the employees of the social security they could not find info, because their goal is not to genealogy, and they often do not bother. The fact that he did not get a check from them does not mean he does not put a number and a request. You may be right .. But I’m skeptical. “There must be an application somewhere” is the comment, I agree with that. Have disposed of a local agency with a greater likelihood of such documents. If it does not exist, you are with what is there to arbeiten.Ich do not envy the task with Jones and the window hard enough that I personally call it the “hump in 1890.” If both he and Levie was born before 1880, when they should find. The 1900 census was married a few years, giving you a framework for a marriage certificate (and hopefully, his / her family may be in this area) does suchen.Wenn their death certificates, which is the priority.
